Mirror your iPhone to your Tesla in three steps
With Tesla Air: turn on Personal Hotspot on your iPhone, connect your Tesla to it, open tsla.cc in the car's browser and tap Start Casting in the app. Your iPhone's picture and sound appear on the Tesla screen.
Teslas have no CarPlay and no AirPlay. Tesla Air uses the car's built-in browser to put your whole iPhone screen, with sound, on the big display.
Get started
- Turn on Personal Hotspot on your iPhone and connect your Tesla to it. In the car, turn on "Remain Connected in Drive".
- Open tsla.cc in the car's browser and leave the page open.
- Tap Start Casting in Tesla Air. Your iPhone's picture and sound show up in the car.
If it's on your phone, it's on your car screen
Videos, live streams, games, video calls, photos, maps: whatever is on your iPhone appears in the car. Portrait or landscape follows your phone, and sound plays through the car's speakers.
The picture goes straight from your phone to your car. Nothing is recorded or stored.
Protected content such as Netflix shows black on iOS. That is a system restriction.
Which Teslas and which iPhones
Any Tesla whose touchscreen can open the web browser, including Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. A screen that can't shows "Casting isn't available on this screen yet (E20)".
You need an iPhone with iOS 17.0 or later. Android is coming soon.
Works with most carriers. If you can't connect, contact support@tsla.cc.
Start with a free trial
The app is free to install. Casting needs a plan: monthly with a 3-day free trial, then $2.99 a month (US), or a one-time lifetime purchase of $9.99 (US). Prices are shown in the App Store, and you can cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings.
Questions
- Which Teslas work?
- Any Tesla whose touchscreen can open the web browser, including Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X.
- Does it use a lot of data?
- Casting itself runs over the hotspot link between your phone and the car and uses no extra data. Streaming a video on your phone uses the same data it always does.
- Do I need Premium Connectivity?
- No. The car joins your phone's hotspot, so the browser works without it.
- Why is Netflix black?
- iOS blocks protected video from being mirrored or recorded, so it shows black. Tesla Air can't change that.
- Does it work with Android?
- iPhone only for now. Android is coming soon.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Open the app and start. No account, no sign-in.
